Connecticut

Though there haven’t been any provable components of Project Maple prosed in Connecticut yet, there has been a filing with FERC by Enbridge. They say it’s not related, but it’s similar enough to the goals of Project Maple, we see it as a case of segmentation (filing individual pieces instead of a whole project to make it look smaller).

FERC docket #CP24-21, a regulator facility to be added to an injection site on the E-1 lateral in Coventry, CT.

Enbridge asked for “blanket authority” under an existing permit from 1987. Filing this way, these projects would have received automatic approval if no protests were filed in response.

Opposing organizations and individuals were able to get protests filed on the docket in time to trigger review by FERC. In June, FERC approved the proposal for a new M&R station in Coventry under the 1987 permit.
